The Look Dossier

Terms

Terms of service

Last updated 31 August 2026

These terms cover your use of thelookdossier.com and your purchase of The Look Dossier. Using the site means you accept them.

What this site is

The Look Dossier is a set of questionnaires about personal style. You answer questions about your coloring, your build and your facial proportions; deterministic scoring functions turn those answers into a color season, a body type, a face shape and a skin undertone; and the site explains how each verdict was reached. The questionnaires and the reference guides are free. A combined personal report — the dossier — is sold for $19.

In these terms, "we" and "us" mean the operator of thelookdossier.com, and "you" means the person using it. You need to be old enough to enter into a contract where you live in order to buy anything here.

Using the free parts

The three questionnaires and the season guides are free, need no account, and are yours to use as often as you like. We may change, extend or withdraw free content at any time — it is published, not promised.

Buying a dossier

The Look Dossier costs $19 US dollars, charged once. It is a digital product. Nothing is shipped, nothing is printed, and there is no subscription, membership, renewal or recurring charge of any kind.

Payment is taken by Stripe on a page hosted by Stripe. Your card details never reach this site. The purchase is complete when Stripe confirms the payment.

Delivery is immediate: you are taken to your dossier as soon as the payment clears. The dossier lives at a permanent private link, and that link is what you have bought — keep it. If you lose it, write to us from the address you gave Stripe at checkout and we will find your purchase and send it to you.

Refunds

You can have a full refund within 14 days of purchase, for any reason, by emailing support@thelookdossier.com. When the refund is issued, access to your dossier ends and its link stops working. The full policy is on the refund page and forms part of these terms.

Your dossier and its link

There are no accounts here. Your dossier lives at an address containing a random, unguessable string, and holding that address is what grants access to it. Keep it as you would keep any private document: anyone you give it to can read it.

We cannot recover a link for someone who cannot identify their purchase, so if you lose it, write to us from the email address you used at checkout.

Your dossier is for you. You may read it, print it, save it and share it with whoever you like. You may not resell it, and you may not present it as your own product or service.

Using the site fairly

Please do not:

  • copy the guides wholesale in order to republish them, with or without attribution;
  • scrape the site at a rate that degrades it for other people;
  • try to enumerate or guess dossier links, or access a dossier that is not yours;
  • interfere with the site's operation or its security.

Who owns what

The written guides, the questionnaires, the palettes as compiled and published here, the scoring functions and the site itself are ours. Buying a dossier gives you a personal license to use your own report; it does not transfer ownership of anything.

Your answers are yours. We use them to produce and rebuild your dossier and for nothing else — see the privacy policy.

Names of systems described here

This site describes systems of classification that were developed by other people, and it describes them in our own words. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to David Kibbe or his businesses, and nothing on this site is his work. The same applies to any other practitioner, school or brand named in the guides: they are named because the material discusses them, not because they are involved with us.

This is style guidance, not professional advice

A dossier tells you which colors and lines are likely to suit you. It is not medical, dermatological, dietary, psychological or financial advice, it is not a diagnosis of anything, and it should not be used as a substitute for a professional's opinion on any of those things.

The scoring is deterministic and it shows its work, which means you can see exactly why it concluded what it did — and disagree with it. Personal coloring and proportion are judgments, not measurements of a fixed fact, and any typing system is a simplification. Treat a result as a well-argued starting point, not a verdict about you.

Availability

We intend your dossier link to keep working indefinitely and we intend the site to stay up, but we cannot promise either without qualification: this is a website, and websites have outages. If we ever had to shut the site down, we would give notice by email to everyone who had bought a dossier, with enough time to save a copy.

Limits

The site and the dossier are provided as they are. To the extent the law where you live allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the site, and our total liability for anything connected with a purchase is limited to what you paid for it — $19. Nothing here removes a right you have as a consumer that cannot be removed by agreement.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top says when they last changed, and the version in force for a purchase is the one published when the purchase was made.
